We offer an online drivers education course for all California high school students. You can register for Driver's Education and login to complete the self-paced program. Complete it at one time or in multiple sessions. $39.99 fee includes the entire program and Official DMV certificate. Once you are done with the course, official DMV certificate will be mailed to you in approximately 2 business days.
(If you are over 17 ½ but under 18 years of age, you may get your permit without the driver education and driver training certificates. However, you will not be able to take the driving test until you turn 18.)

DMV accepts payment in Cash, ATM/Debit card, cashier's check or money order made payable to DMV. This fee entitles you to three exams of any type within the 12 month period and pays for both your provisional instruction permit and your drivers license. If all requirements are not met within the 12 month period, the application becomes void and all steps must be completed again.
There are 46 questions on the test. A passing score is at least 38 correct answers. You have 3 chances to pass the test. If you fail, you must wait 7 days before taking it again. We provide practice written test questions here. Study them before you go for your permit test.

• Adults: 30 questions right out of 36 is needed to pass.
• Renewal: 15 questions right out of 18 is needed to pass.

Our instructor will sign your permit on the first day of behind-the-wheel training. Also, your Parent(s) or guardian(s) must sign on your instruction permit certifying that you have completed 50 hours of supervised driving practice (10 hours must be night driving)
Pink Drivers Education certificate and Yellow Drivers Training Completion Certificate is needed for your drive test.
A parent, guardian, or adult 25 years of age or older, who has a valid California drivers license, must accompany you

After you pass your driving test you will be issued an interim license valid for 90 days until you receive your new photo license in the mail. Check your address before you leave DMV and tell the DMV representative if you have moved or if your address is incorrect. If you have not received your license after 60 days, call 1-800-777-0133 to check on the status.
If you fail your driving test, you must wait 2 weeks before you can take the test again. There is $8 retest fee. You have 3 chances to pass.
You must be accompanied and supervised by a licensed parent, guardian or other licensed driver 25 years old or older or a licensed or certified driving instructor when you:
· Transport passengers under 20 years of age at any time for the first twelve months.
· Drive between 11 pm and 5 am for the first twelve months.
When you turn 18 years of age, the provisional part of your license ends. You may continue to drive as an adult using your photo license, which will expire on your 5th birthday after the date you applied.

Left Turn: Extend your left arm straight out the window, palm forward
Right Turn: Extend your left arm out the driver's window with your elbow bent and point your hand to the sky with your palm facing forward
Stop/Slow Down: Extend your left arm out the driver's window and point your arm down with your fingers extended and your palm facing rearward

· If you are under 18, the DMV requires you to take 6 hours of professional drivers training before you can take the driving test. You are welcome to take more hours after the required 6 hours.
· If you are over 18, no in-car driving lessons are required by the DMV. But we sure do recommend them. Most adult drivers require anywhere from 4-10 hours depending on their needs.
· A single driving lesson is 2 hours. How many hours you require depends on your goals, driving skills, and comfort level on the road.
